Webdesigns/UIs and a lot of ‘junior work’ for local brands.

My name is Adam Bogusiak, and I'm 42 years old. I graduated from the University of Łódź, although not in an artistic field. I've been professionally designing since 2007. Like most designers, I started with Adobe software, mainly Photoshop and Illustrator, and later added skills in InDesign and After Effects (remember when Flash was a thing?).

I have diverse experience, working on website designs, prints (brochures, catalogs), social media graphics, app layouts, logos, and branding. I've built entire brands from scratch for close clients (like Będzie Słodko, Pomodoro), and I've also done pro-bono work for sports clubs (Anilana Łódź, MKS Wieluń, Piotrkowianin). Over time, I shifted my focus more towards interface design. I transitioned from Photoshop to Sketch, and after a few years, landed on Figma. Just switching tools wasn't enough; working in Figma demands staying updated, which is why, in my recent role as a design system leader for the Austrian company Salzburg AG, I heavily leaned into using variables and tokens (thanks to the awesome Tokens Studio Pro plugin). My next step is to delve into AI and no-code tools (currently exploring Webflow, which I used to create this website).

I usually begin my collaboration with a client by creating a moodboard to better understand their point of view. Then, depending on the purpose of the inquiry, I typically work on a basic prototype (or collaborate with UX designers responsible for that part). Design is finalized in the last stage.

In my work, I'm meticulous, striving for good organization and proper file and layer naming. A good case study is a project I've been working on since dec 2023. In this project, we implemented my concept of organizing a library across two files: one for foundational elements (style guide) and basic components (atoms), and another for more complex components (molecules) and design patterns. I collaborate with teams from two countries, as well as the client. My current English level is C1.

Typography holds great importance in my designs; I always hunt for fresh yet practical fonts. I aim for my projects to be light and readable. In recent years, designing with WCAG guidelines in mind has been crucial to me, making projects at least AA accessible.
